Tandem PWCC (For Newborn Twins)
While this was not one of our most favorite carries, this was THE FIRST carry I ever used to actually wear the girls even though I had practiced the Tandem FWCC during the last few weeks of pregnancy. This carry is a GREAT place to start off wearing your new babies (you can do this carry with one baby as well!). You don't need to wait to use this carry! It is safe to use from birth and on*. (Be sure, if wearing a younger baby, to monitor your baby to ensure slump their necks/close their airways!) Stretchies are suitable for this carry!! (Just be sure to secure all the passes/layers over your baby(ies)! You can pre-tie this carry before you leave the house too, making it easier to get your baby in and out, so that it's one less stress when you are out and about
*if you have premature babies, please consult with your physician before wearing. Thing such as muscle tone, low birth weight, etc can play a factor in safety.
- Learning the “single baby” variation, PWCC can help you get a better handle on mastering this wrap! (This carry is typically done with a stretchy wrap also; you can use a woven, but you may find it a little more difficult to adjust)
- When wrapping this carry, make sure you put the "X" lower (as you can see below, I made mine WAY too high!)
- You can use the shoulder passes to tuck their heads in so they have more neck support (and is PERFECT for snuggly naps! Refer to photo of carry in pink wrap above)
- Once your babies can not comfortably fit on your chest together (without hanging too much over), it's time to move on to another carry! (We went to hip carries next, but you can front back carry with a woven wrap at any age AS LONG AS you have the experience OR experienced help!)
A better idea of what it should look like!
