Essential News- Spring Edition

John

essential-oils-monthly-newsletter-doterra-educationWelcome to my May newsletter.  This month's focus is on some personal oil experiences we've had in April.  Next month, I'll focus on how to get ready for Summertime fun in the sun with a little oil back up support.  Don't forget your lemon, lavender, peppermint for known allergies or any mystery runny nose/sore throat/cough.  Topical or internal, this combo is a powerhouse!

Did You Know?
At doTERRA everyday you can get daily oil use tips.  I love today's tip:  Deter ants (and several hundred of their closest friends) with Peppermint! I was never personally been a huge fan of peppermint prior to experiencing doTERRA's peppermint. In fact, I thought I would probably never open my bottle. I was very, very wrong!  I have used it for insect repellent, as part of my allergy combo, for headaches and muscle/join pain, to calm down heartburn and other gastric upset, for post-onion eating breath, to stop hiccups, for its cooling effects during exercise, illness, and sunburns, and so much more.

Classes: As the sharing of oil love grows, I'm getting more demand for private classes.  At this point I only have a few open classes a month.  I am always looking for new hosts and do provide hostess gifts tailored to your personal oil needs as a thank you for sharing natural health empowerment to yourself, your family and your friends.

Open classes are currently held at the Inner Health Spa at 1733 S 5th Street in Springfield, IL.  There are two at the Inner Health Spa this month - Monday the 11th at 5:30 and Saturday the 30th at 11 am.  Both of these are introductory level classes.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  A doTERRA class is NOT a product party!!
I keep my oil classes updated as a pinned post on my Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/TheEssentialManatee).
 Fun with Essential Oils:
Pamper your mother, your wife, or yourself with this lovely Mother's Day gift using Essential Oils!   The biggest cost here is the glass jar if you 'splurge' and buy a really pretty one.  Total essential oil cost is $2 (wholesale).  Of course, you can show extra love by handing over the rest of the bottle of oils :)
 Homemade Face Wash
face-wash

Total Time: 5 minutes
Serves: 30

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • 5 drops lavender essential oil
  • 5 drops frankincense essential oil
  • 5 drops lemon essential oil
  • Glass Jar
  • ******if acne prone, replace frankincense and lemon oils with 10 drops of melaleuca (tea tree) essential oil********

Directions:

  1. Melt the coconut oil in a pan over low heat
  2. Once melted, remove from heat and add in the remaining ingredients.
  3. Store in wash dispenser or air tight jar and keep it in a cool place
This homemade face wash recipe will leave your skin feeling refreshed, hydrated and clean. The essential oils and coconut oil work to kill any bacteria while providing nutrients and hydration to your skin to keep it looking and feeling young and vibrant! It’s one of my all-time favorite recipes!
Note: Citrus essentials oils are highly concentrated and are full of healthy acidic properties. Because of this, we recommend you use glass containers when storing them so they don’t eat away any of the plastic.
Seasonal Tip:
For my family Spring means more time outside. With kiddos this means more cuts and scrapes and bruises.  For me, it means I need more energy!
For my accident prone self and family, the Owie Blend (or First Aid Spray) is our go to remedy.  Equal drops of lavender and melaleuca (6 each in 2 oz of water) not only cleans the wounds and speeds healing, but the calming scent of lavender is great for that emotional freak out children experience when then fall or get hurt.  The Fractionated Coconut oil is to keep the oils dispersed in the water filling the spray bottle.  You can also add a pinch of Epsom salt.
images (13)Many people add some Frankincense as well.  If the cut or scrape is bad, I add it.  But for superficial use (and with a toddler who likes to play with spray bottles), I save my Frank :)   For those injuries bad enough to need a band-aid (like really need one, not child-likes-bandaids need one), we follow up with doTERRA Correct X first aid ointment.
For energy, I have been 'knock your socks off' impressed by how the new Daily Nutrient pack plus Mito2Max is treating me.  Last month a new way to save on supplements was introduced so I jumped in to the vitamin world.  I had taken vitamins religiously for years.  I even followed a biochemical profile I had done and looked over by a specialist. And I noticed....nothing.  My expectation for the dT vitamins was low despite how well they were treating my husband. But with a 100% money back guarantee, I went ahead and gave it a try.  I have been very happy by how much energy I have now. More than I probably deserve given how little sleep and actual rest I get most night!  I did forget to take them for a few days and felt zapped.  I'm so thankful to have a nutritional safety net that my body seems to actually be able to assimilate.  Here is a photo of my new supplement routine.  I only take a half dose right now so this is actually a 2 month supply:IMG_5969
